Neroli, Pink Pepper, Bamboo
Champaca and Freesia Absolutes, Basmati Notes
Myrrh, Green Tea Notes, Musk
Champaca is a species of Magnolia, cultivated mostly in Southeast Asia for its beautifully fragrant flowers which are used in bridal rooms, for temple worship or simply tucked behind the ear as a hair ornament. It has a rich, creamy, heady smell which lacks the citrussy freshness of the Magnolia flowers found on the European continent. In this Ormonde Jayne creation the sensual, tropical nature of Champaca is delicately supported by milky, basmati rice notes and given a gauzy, aerated feel by green tea and myrrh. The result is a breathtaking, elegant floral with a slight gourmand edge, floating like a pure white cloud on a limitless blue sky. It is sunny, uplifting, euphorically buoyant yet also intimate and subtly voluptuous: a fitting tribute to Champaca flowers and femininity. You’ll adore the soft, comforting purr of Ormonde Jayne “Champaca”. Just let it wrap itself around your shoulders and delight in its cozy, exotic beauty.
Ormonde Jayne stands for a return to the golden age of perfumery, an elegant era when fragrance creation was a fine art, when essential oils and absolutes were infused for a period of months before filtration and then allowed to mature again before bottling, resulting in a deeper, more complex perfume. Ormonde Jayne’s oils are compounded from finest ingredients available and matured in the classical style in its own London laboratory. By doing so, Ormonde Jayne’s creator Linda Pilkington upholds the fine art of exquisite perfumery whose principles she meticulously applied in every creation included in her fragrance collection.
